Canopy Access Fund
FUNDING HIGH-IMPACT NONPROFITS GLOBALLY

We help donors send grants to high-impact nonprofits more securely and efficiently — and we make it easier for those nonprofits to receive funds without rebuilding the process every time.

Canopy is currently working with partners pre-approved by the Livelihood Impact Fund. We are not yet accepting open applications.
Why We Exist
Nonprofits doing high-impact work outside the United States often have no easy way to receive funds from U.S. donors. The available paths — setting up a 501(c)(3) , large fiscal sponsors, donor-advised funds, international giving platforms — each address part of the problem. Each leaves gaps.

Donors face their own exposure: wire fraud, uneven verification, limited recourse when something goes wrong. The result is real friction on both sides — grants that take longer, cost more, and carry more risk than they should.

Canopy was built to close those gaps.
What We Do
01.
Compliant cross-border grants
We handle equivalency determinations and expenditure responsibility in-house, choosing the right approach grant by grant. Where we can use an ED, we do — it reduces the long-term reporting burden on the grantee. Where ER is the right call, we keep it clear, proportionate, and predictable.
02.
Fiscal Sponsorships for select partners
We provide fiscal sponsorship for vetted projects that need a U.S.-based nonprofit home. Sponsored projects receive grants and donations through Canopy, with full compliance and financial oversight handled in-house. We are currently working with a select group of partners and are not accepting open applications.
03.
Wire-fraud protection, built in
Bank details and contact information are collected through a secure platform — never over email. We verify accounts in-house before any payment is released, re-verify on a regular cadence, and confirm receipt of every disbursement directly with the grantee.
04.
A smoother experience for all
We smooth out the parts of international giving that usually slow things down: due diligence, bank verification, payment, receipt. For funders, that means a single compliant pathway and less operational lift. For grantees, it means receiving funds without rebuilding the process every time.
